The Historical Maritime Society was founded in 2008 by an idea of Gianfranco Vecchio and a group of enthusiasts of the history and tradition of maritime and diving.

The Historical Maritime Society is a non-profit association  that fits into the landscape of voluntary bodies with the objective of aggregating all those who have the desire to preserve the historical and cultural heritage linked to the maritime and diving and to protect the water enviroment internationally.

The Logo of the Association, a steering wheel frames a diving helmet identifies the link between marine and diving.

The main color s are dark blue of the deep sea, brown wood with which were built boats and ships of the past and gold on the same ships and brass and copper, which were built the diving helmets.
